Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a regular full-time Degree completed in June 2021 or thereafter:
• Apprentice Trainee (Technical): B.E / B.Tech in Electronics, Electricals, Electronics & Communications, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
• Apprentice Trainee (General Streams): Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Commerce, Administration, or equivalent disciplines.
Note: Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training at STPI or any other organization are not eligible.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Age criteria as on 14/09/2026:
• Minimum Age: 18 years.
• Maximum Age (Unreserved): 27 years.
• Maximum Age (OBC): 30 years (3 years relaxation).
• Maximum Age (SC/ST): 32 years (5 years relaxation).

STPI operates as an autonomous society under MeitY delivering statutory STP/EHTP services, incubation support, and high-speed data communications. Apprentice trainees are embedded across engineering, incubation, and administrative wings, gaining exposure to statutory export regulations, network infrastructure, and datacenter operations within a professional 5-day central government framework.

Posting & Transfer Policy

The apprenticeship tenure is strictly 1 year under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Candidates are posted at their allotted STPI Center (New Delhi HQ, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Noida, Mohali, or Pune). The engagement carries no claim or right to permanent absorption or regularization in STPI.

There is no promotional ladder during the 1-year training period. Upon completion, apprentices receive a recognized certificate from NATS/MeitY, enhancing career prospects for junior executive and engineering positions across IT PSUs and tech enterprises.
