Educational Qualification

Essential qualifications require a recognized Medical Qualification included in the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 alongside post-specific postgraduate degrees: MD/MS/DNB or D.M./M.Ch in respective disciplines for Teaching Faculty (Professor: 10-13 years experience; Associate Professor: 4-7 years experience; Assistant Professor: 3 years experience for Broad Specialty / 0 years for D.M./M.Ch). For Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS), candidates must hold MBBS plus MD (Hospital Administration) or MHA with at least 9 years hospital administration experience in a 200+ bedded government hospital. Valid MCI/State Medical Council registration (and DMC registration upon selection) is compulsory.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit is 55 years for Assistant Professor and DMS; 60 years for Professor and Associate Professor (countable as of 22.10.2026). Retired Government medical professionals are eligible up to 66 years on re-employment. Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-SM, and Departmental candidates is applicable as per Govt. of India / Govt. of NCT of Delhi rules.

Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (RGSSH) is a premier 650-bedded autonomous tertiary care institution established under the Government of NCT of Delhi, located in Tahirpur, East Delhi. The institution operates cutting-edge clinical super-specialty departments (Cardiology, GI Surgery, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Critical Care, Urology, Endocrinology). Faculty members manage intensive inpatient and outpatient care, high-volume super-specialty interventions, surgical procedures, and clinical research/teaching. The post is strictly full-time, and private practice of any kind is strictly prohibited. Work involves demanding clinical and emergency duties typical of a premier government tertiary care center.

Initial appointment is on a contractual basis for a period of 5 years, subject to satisfactory work and conduct evaluated by the Director & CEO, RGSSH. Further extensions are governed by Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APAR) in accordance with the hospital's Memorandum of Association (MOA). The posting is fixed at RGSSH campus, Tahirpur, Delhi-110093 without inter-city transfer liability, though internal departmental rotation and committee postings apply.

Faculty positions receive fixed consolidated remuneration without additional DA/HRA. DMS is appointed in 7th CPC Pay Level 12.
