Educational Qualification

Post-Graduate Degree in Social Work, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or allied social sciences with a preferred M.Phil or Ph.D. (or nearing completion of Ph.D.). Minimum of 03 years of relevant professional research, field intervention, or documentation experience in criminal justice, prison reforms, rehabilitation, or social work with marginalized and destitute populations. Proficiency in spoken Hindi and written/spoken English is required; working knowledge of Marathi is an added advantage.

Prayas is an iconic field action project of the Centre for Criminology and Justice, School of Social Work, TISS, initiated in 1990. The project works inside prisons, custodial institutions, and with women and youth trapped in the criminal justice system or destitute states.
