Educational Qualification

Assistant Professor (Group-B): Qualifications as per National Medical Commission (NMC) norms. Candidates must possess recognized Post-Graduate Degree (MD / MS / DNB) or M.Sc. with Ph.D./D.Sc. in the concerned subject (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine/PSM, Dermatology/DVL, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, General Surgery) from a recognized medical institution.
Experience: 1 year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized/permitted medical college after acquiring MD/MS degree; OR for DNB candidates, 3 years Junior Resident in a 500+ bedded multi-speciality hospital and 1 year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized medical college. Active registration with Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) or NMC is mandatory.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit is 40 years for Open / Unreserved category candidates. Age relaxation up to 45 years is admissible for Backward Class / Reserved category candidates as per Maharashtra Government rules.

Selection is conducted by an institutional selection committee under the Dean, GMC Jalgaon. Applications received between 02/11/2026 and 16/11/2026 will be evaluated against the 12 objective academic and research criteria specified in Annexure-A (maximum 90 marks). Candidates called for the interview will appear on 19/11/2026 at 11:00 AM at the Council Hall, GMC Jalgaon for personal interview (10 marks). Final merit list will be prepared out of 100 marks.

Government Medical College, Jalgaon is a state-run tertiary care teaching institution affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik and operating under the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai. Assistant Professors (Group-B) balance clinical patient care at the associated Civil Hospital with undergraduate MBBS clinical teaching, lecture demonstrations, bedside clinics, and postgraduate training.
