Educational Qualification

Essential Qualifications: Professional with at least 12 years of experience possessing a Master’s Degree in Hindi from a recognized University with English as a subject at degree level, OR Master’s Degree in Hindi medium with adequate knowledge of English. OR Minimum 10 years of relevant experience as Hindi Officer / Rajbhasha Officer in any Ministry/Department of the Government of India, Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), or Autonomous Body.
Desirable: Practical working knowledge of the Official Language Policy of the Union, Official Languages Act 1963, and Official Language Rules 1976; proficiency in Hindi-English translation, noting & drafting, Hindi typing, and utilization of computers, internet, and official email systems.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Candidates must be between 40 and 70 years of age as on the date of interview. Both working professionals and retired central/state government officers are eligible.

The Senior Consultant (Hindi/Rajbhasha) holds apex advisory responsibility for statutory implementation of the Official Language Policy of the Union across the institute. Key duties involve preparing Hindi quarterly progress reports, translating annual research compendiums, scientific circulars, and administrative orders, managing Parliamentary Committee on Official Language inspections, coordinating Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC / नराकास) activities, and organizing Hindi workshops and Pakhwada. The environment is professional, academic, and administrative with regular central government office hours in Parel, Mumbai.
