Educational Qualification

Basic Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent in the preceding degree, with specialization in the appropriate area/branch and consistently good academic record throughout.
Assistant Professor Grade-I: Minimum 3 years of post-Ph.D. industrial, research, or teaching experience (excluding experience gained before and while pursuing Ph.D.).
Assistant Professor Grade-II: Ph.D. with less than 3 years of post-Ph.D. industrial, research, or teaching experience.
Eligible Categories: Special Drive open exclusively to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD, and EWS candidates across 28 academic departments, centres, and schools.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit as on August 18, 2026: 35 years for male candidates and 38 years for female candidates. Age relaxations apply per GoI norms: SC/ST up to 5 years, OBC-NCL up to 3 years, PwBD up to 10 years; no age relaxation for EWS. Female candidates may avail only one applicable relaxation.

Directly recruited Grade-I faculty serve a 1-year probation. On completing 3 years of service as Assistant Professor Grade-I, faculty move automatically to Academic Pay Level 13A1 (₹ 1,31,400 - 2,04,700). Grade-II faculty transition to Grade-I upon accumulating the mandatory 3 years of post-doctoral industrial/research/teaching experience.
