Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications

Educational Qualification

M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related fields with minimum 6 months relevant experience in food testing, laboratory operations, and quality control; OR B.Sc., B.Tech., or B.E. in relevant disciplines with at least 2 years relevant experience. Desirable: 1 year experience in Quality Assurance/QMS/PT-ILC and training on ISO/IEC 17043:2023 or ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum 35 years as on the closing date (08/10/2026). Relaxation of 5 years admissible for Women, SC, ST, OBC, and Differently Abled candidates as per Government of India rules.

NIFTEM Kundli (Sonipat, Haryana) is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India. The Centre for Food Research and Analysis (CFRA) at NIFTEM-K is a premier NABL-accredited analytical facility. The appointed JRF will work directly on establishing CFRA as a recognized Proficiency Testing (PT) provider for fortified foods under ISO/IEC 17043:2023, gaining rigorous practical exposure to accreditation audits, PT round execution, statistical evaluation, and quality management systems.

The appointment is purely temporary and contractual for an initial tenure of 12 months, or co-terminus with the project duration, whichever is earlier.

The position is on project contract basis without direct promotional avenues into permanent NIFTEM faculty or scientific posts. However, hands-on experience in ISO 17043/17025 implementation and food fortification analysis provides exceptional industry demand across NABL testing laboratories, FSSAI national reference labs, and multinational food testing corporations.
