Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess an MBBS degree with a recognized PG Degree / Diploma (MD / MS / DNB / Diploma) in the concerned clinical specialty (Radiology, Anesthesia, Microbiology, Obs & Gynae, Medicine, Surgery) recognized by NMC/MCI.
• Relaxed Criteria: If PG candidates are not available, MBBS candidates with at least 2 years of clinical experience in the concerned specialty in a Govt. or Govt.-empanelled hospital will be considered.
• Mandatory Registration: Must be registered with Delhi Medical Council (DMC) with the concerned qualification incorporated, and must not have completed 3 years of Senior Residency under Central Residency Scheme.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 45 years as on the date of interview (24.09.2026). Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Divyangjan candidates is admissible as per Government of India / GNCTD rules.

Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya Hospital (PMMMH) is a 100-bedded multi-specialty secondary care hospital under the Government of NCT of Delhi, located in Malviya Nagar, South Delhi. The hospital caters to high patient inflows across South Delhi and adjoining NCR areas, operating active Outpatient Departments (OPD), 24x7 Emergency/Casualty, Labor Room/Maternity, and Major Operation Theatres. Senior Residents serve on the front line of emergency management, night on-call duties, labor room delivery emergencies, surgical procedures, and intensive care management in critical departments (Radiology, Anesthesia, Obs & Gynae, Medicine, and Surgery). Work culture is fast-paced, clinical, and patient-centric. Clinical decision-making and rapid triage skills are heavily prioritized.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

Initial appointment is on an emergent adhoc basis for a period of 89 days, or until a regular candidate selected by the Centralized Committee of GNCTD joins, whichever is earlier. If reserved OBC candidates are not available, posts are filled from General/Unreserved candidates on an adhoc basis for 44 days. The engagement is extendable subject to satisfactory work-and-conduct reports and vacancy status, up to a maximum cumulative limit of 3 years under the Central Residency Scheme. Selected candidates must join duties within 07 days of receiving the offer of appointment.

Adhoc Senior Residency is a temporary, stop-gap clinical assignment governed by the Central Residency Scheme and Civil Services (Temporary Rules 1978). It does not provide permanent absorption or automatic promotion within Delhi Health Services. However, the completion certificate and clinical experience gained at a recognized GNCTD hospital are officially recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) as qualifying senior residency experience for Assistant Professor eligibility in medical colleges and Specialist Grade-III posts in UPSC/DSSSB.
